The Group Accountant (Sr.Accountant) is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and reporting. You'll support the Director of Accounting & Audit in managing the company's affairs, improving the accounting systems continuously, and preparing internal and external reporting.

 

A successful Group Accountant is flexible and adaptable to excel in a dynamic environment during the scale-up phase of the company.


OWN Accounting 

  • Responsible for ensuring accurate balance sheet reconciliations are prepared each month for all group companies, i.e., both domestic and international companies.  
  • Responsible for performing monthly P&L reviews across all group companies, i.e., both domestic and international companies.  
  • Prepares the monthly management accounts reporting pack and consolidation, including commentary.  
  • Maintains integrity of reporting framework and ensures accuracy of reporting, including commentary.  
  • Inventory costing and quantity validation in NZ  
  • Mid-month transactional review in preparation for the month end  
  • Co-ordinating regional monthly reporting 
  • Support the Director of Accounting & Audit with annual audits across the group of companies.  
  • Ensure annual stock takes are undertaken to meet audit requirements in liaison with the Global Inventory Manager  
  • Ensure the group's tax compliance obligations are met in all regions, i.e., GST, VAT, PAYE & FBT. 
  • Back up to Group Accounts Manager for Xero processing, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, payroll, AP processing and payments, and end-of-month processing.  
  • Ensure correct policies and procedures are followed pertaining to finance across all regions  
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and streamlining of existing financial processes.  
  • Ad-hoc reporting and projects  

 

BUILD on your experience 

To be successful in this role, you likely have: 

  • 4 to 6 years of financial accounting experience 
  • 2 to 3 years of Audit Experience? 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar fields 
  • IFRS and international group consolidation experience.  
  • Big 4 statutory reporting 
  • Group consolidation 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).  
  • Office 365 proficiency 
  • MS Excel skills intermediate to advanced 
  • Flexibility & adaptability are a must in this rapidly growing business.  

 

It would be nice if you have 

  • CA/CPA preferred 
  • Experience is multi currencies 
  • All hands-on deck team players. 
  • Strong ownership 
  • Deadline driven - you will be working to strict monthly reporting, budget, and forecast deadlines
